INCENTIVE/FIT: At the point in canon Marcel is being taken from, his people are being held hostage and killed mercilessly. So he'd jump at the chance to free them and get rid of the threat. The current threat being Finn, but he'd also be down with getting rid of Esther and Mikael too.

ANYTHING ELSE? Vampires in TVD/The Originals universe have super speed/super senses/super strength, their blood has healing properties, and they have retractable fangs.
Their one problematic ability is "compulsion" which is essentially mind-control. Marcel wouldn't use it to coerce anyone, but I'm gonna say this ability is completely nixed anyway, can't be used at all.
That aside, he'd catch fire under direct sunlight, but he has a magic ring that protects him from that. He can't walk into private homes without an invitation and vervain burns him.

1820 - Marcel meets Klaus, he is 10.
1821 - He gets a present from Klaus for his 11th birthday, which he keeps for the next 200 years. D'awww.
1835 - Marcel and Rebekah make out so Klaus daggers Rebekah. (25)
1887 - Klaus undaggers Rebekah. Marcel is a vampire and looks the same age as in 1835.

Marcel has both a heartbeat and a reflection, and the fangs only come out when he wants them to. So basically he looks human, buuut for characters with pings he'd totally ping as supernatural.
